England fans on the rampage?
Football May 15th, 2008So can we now finally lay to rest the assumption that British football violence is exclusively English, and that the Scots are just a bunch of lovable cartoon characters?
Uefa final: Rangers fans’ rampage (Channel 4)
The sooner the collective governing bodies accept that the potential for violence and hooliganism is a consistent presence in several countries, the better it can be dealt with. Labelling one country as the “sick man of European football” makes for a convenient way of passing the buck, but allows the wider problem to fester and deteriorate. Just ask the Italians.

I had assumed it was local Mancunians who supported Rangers…. ;)
Anyone who would like to see the lovable supporters only need go out in Glasgow on the night of an Old Firm Game ;). Or any derby in any major European city for that matter.

I was having breakfast in Leeds City Station on the morning of that game at 8.00am - the cheery ‘Gers fans were in high spirits then and were sinking the Carling Lagers like no tomorrow, mind you it was a hot morning!
They then had to get to Manchester, which is 60/70 miles away.
All clubs have their idiots including mine….
